Projects we're working on

Student Commission on Racial Justice

What is the Student Commission on Racial Justice?

The Student Commission on Racial Justice is part of a partnership we have formed with Leaders Unlocked, a social enterprise that work across education, policing, health and justice to help organisations involve the people who matter and shape decision-making for the better.

Who is involved with the Student Commission on Racial Justice?

The Student Commission on Racial Justice project has been rolled out at a total of 8 other colleges, we are just one of two taking part in South Yorkshire.

In College, we have our very own Student Commission on Racial Justice team comprised of 3 students; you can read more about them towards the end of this page.

What does the College’s Student Commission on Racial Justice team do?

Our student team have been given a platform through the project which allows them to have a collective voice on racial justice, share their views and experiences and to make recommendations for government, education and other sectors to take account of. The project uses innovative co-creation methods, peer-to-peer engagement and role models, as it moves beyond traditional top-down educational approaches.
